When trying to select text, in order to ask for google translate, get an emoji option instead.

First of all, you should make sure that you have enabled the "Tap to translate" function of Google Translate.
Access Facebook Messenger and locate the message you want to translate. Touch and hold your finger for a moment. Then go to "Copy" in the lower left corner of the screen.
Now, the Google Translate icon will appear in the upper right corner of the screen. Tap on it to see the translation of the copied message.
That's all.
