Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 — Samsung’s latest scam

I took my Note 4 into the Samsung store in Oxford Street, London, today for repair of the worn sockets. The counter man said that Samsung doesn’t have parts in Europe so it will take at least 6 weeks to repair. I would have to check the phone in now; they would take it off me and leave it down stairs for 6 weeks while my device sat in the queue for parts.

What was I supposed to do for a phone for the next 6 weeks? I could upgrade to the Note 7 except that he couldn’t supply one and I don’t have fire-proof pockets. Seems I look stupid enough to buy a new Samsung phone because they can’t support my current one, or was he just stupid enough to try?

How can they have no USB sockets or 3.5mm headphone sockets in Europe when its the obvious mechanical part to wear out? Is this Samsung’s new scam for avoiding warranty repairs on the phone?

I agree with this person about the Samsung. All my previous phones was Samsung but I turn to LG for now.

Hello Edward,

well this is far from being a scam, it is sadly quite common. No manufacturer has all the parts available at all times. It is frustrating, I get it, but nothing new. And they are not saying they can not repair your phone, it will simply take longer than it should.

SIMPLY take longer than it should?!?! Seems to me the only SIMPLE thing is to have enough of commonly worn out parts in stock or at least somewhere on the CONTINENT!!

Doesn't sound like a scam but 6 weeks time is way too long. Hope they return your device soon.

Many other phones are available in the market which are easy to repair. But Samsung Phone is also very easy to repair in Pakistan. 1 week before my Samsung Galaxy S4 camera has been bricked but i repair it in only 400 rupees (4$). It has very cheaps accessories in Pakistan.

6 weeks is a long time but it's same with almost all manufacturers. I still remember when it took around 10 weeks to get my HTC One M8 repaired.
